Blow In Cavity Wall Insulation Service

Rockwool EnergySaver cavity wall insulation is an entirely dry system which uses granulated Rockwool blown into an external wall cavity to a predetermined density. No glues or catalysts are involved in the installation procedure.

The system may be used to improve the thermal insulation of both new and existing masonry cavity walls as well as certain types of nontraditional structures.

Rockwool EnergySaver blown wool does not create a bridge or capillary path within the cavity that might allow rainwater to penetrate to the inner leaf.

Thermal conductivity (K value) = 0.039W/mK.’

Custom Cosy has specialised equipment to blow Rockwool Energy Saver cavity wall insulation into existing cavity walls. The rockwool Energy Saver consists of volcanic rock which is crushed and mixed with limestone and coke, then heated to 1500°C. The melt is diverted into a spinning machine and turned from a liquid to a rookwool.

There are a variety of rockwool products on the market but the Rockwool Energy Saver has been specially treated with a water repellent. This treatment makes it suitable for cavity wall insulation. The Rockwool is deemed hydrophobic and is guaranteed to repel water.

Custom Cost Pty Ltd will only use RockWool Energy Saver for cavity wall installations as it compliant with the NCC (National Construction Code) 2012.

Please be aware that there are many similar Rockwool products on the market that are not hydrophobic.
